Microsoft Publisher - Microsoft Publisher is a desktop publishing application from Microsoft. It is often considered to be an entry-level desktop publishing application, and to provide superior control over page elements to Microsoft Word but inferior to page layout programs such as Adobe Systems' InDesign, Quark, Inc.
Desktop publishing - Desktop publishing combines a personal computer, page layout software and a printer to create publications on a small economic scale. Users create page layouts with text, graphics, photos and other visual elements using desktop publishing software such as QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, RagTime, the free Scribus, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw.
